Did you know that Breathography was invented over years of training post-natal women? There was one particular client, who had an especially hard time connecting to her abs and also had a history of herniated discs, so we needed to take extra action. It began using my husband's Breathalyzer for his trombone practice [it's a little device with a ball in it, and if you blow hard enough, the ball stays in the air]. Turned out this was GREAT way to teach a client to make a connection between the deep abs and the breath. Additionally, the tying of a satin ribbon around the waistline to feel the tension on the inhale and the looseness on the exhale was a helpful method of keeping the transversus abdominis engaged throughout. THIS was the birth of the Ab-Ribbon!
Over the course of the years, Breathography has progressed into the HYPOXiX method, which uses progressive Breathography to stimulate adaptations in the body, but it all began with using Breathography for pre & post-natal training.
Please test your diastasis and go through the several series available! There are some series that are COMING soon [such as the First 8 Series, which is designed for the first 8 Weeks after giving birth], but there are hundreds of pre/post-natal exercise sessions that suit all fitness levels, and teach you that using your breath for your core is MOST ideal when pregnant and after giving birth!
